His interest in photography was sparked in elementary school with a pinhole made in a shoebox.
Although he has professionally been, until quite recently, a home builder and craftsman, photography had been a hobby for John for more than a half century.
A passion for traveling and a curiosity into his Scottish ancestry has taken John and his wife, Beverly, to Scotland, Ireland and Europe for more than 25 years. Many scenes evoke memories for them of searches for the history of his beloved grandparents and the families left behind in Scotland when they emigrated from the Ayrshire and Angus regions.

John's landscapes are mostly shot on film with a medium format Bronica camera. Photos with a D after the number are digital and DS are digital stitched. All prints are made on the highest quality archival photographic paper, mounted on acid-free mattes and framed by the photographer.
For those who have traveled abroad, we hope to evoke memories of places visited, new friends made,and the sense of adventure we have felt. For those who have not yet made the journey we hope to share our love of nature, of places not yet visited, of the suprise that might await us around the next corner or down the next unmapped road........we wish you a pleasant journey.
